Find the Next Important Deadline

Whena new task or letter adds a date

Open the task, letter or message. Find the date by which someone needs an answer or action, then copy it to the calendar or list you already check. If no date is stated, write 'date not stated' and save a question to ask later.

Why it works

A date in a letter can disappear among everything else it says. Give the date its own place before it becomes a last-minute surprise.

Start tiny

Open the message and copy its date.

What you’ll notice

You can see the next date that needs your attention instead of searching for it again.

When it slips

If the message has no clear date, mark it ‘not stated’ and save the sender or official contact to ask. Don't turn a guess into a deadline.
