Aim the desk fan away from your face

Whenyou switch on your desk fan

Turn a user-adjustable desk fan so its airflow does not point at your eyes. Keep the fan stable and its vents clear.

Why it works

The breeze has a direction you can change. This is a comfort experiment, not treatment for dry-eye disease.

Start tiny

Rotate the fan a little away.

What you’ll notice

The direct draft moves elsewhere.

When it slips

The airflow comes from fixed ventilation; try moving your seat out of its path or ask facilities for help.

SafetyPersistent eye discomfort or blur needs an eye examination. Sudden vision loss or severe eye pain needs urgent care.
