Look through a public telescope
Whenan evening sky session is open
Attend a staffed observatory or public star party. Ask what the telescope is showing and how to use the eyepiece, look without moving the equipment, then compare with the unaided sky.
Start tiny
Ask the host to point out one visible object.
SafetyUse staffed night viewing, dress for the weather and plan the return. Never aim optics at the Sun.
