Is this deck for you?
Where it takes you.
You're curious how Franklin actually worked, from his daily questions and lapse chart to his habits in argument, and want to test them in your own week rather than just read about them.
Improvising my attention, arguments and spending as I go
Running deliberate small experiments in attention, talk and useful work
What the cards have you do
- Bracket the day with two questions, “What good shall I do?” and “What good have I done?”, and give one concrete answer to each.
- Soften a disputed opinion with “it appears to me”, and name a case where the other view fits before you disagree.
- Reduce a paragraph to hints, then rebuild it two days later without looking: a writing drill from Franklin's own account.
- Weigh a hard choice his way: collect pros and cons for four days, cancel equal weights, then wait two days.
About this deck
The printed edition of The Useful Imperfection Press: every card from the free library deck, printed front and back and ready to pin up.
The cards are the same as the free download. You are paying for the printing, the finish and the time it saves, and you are keeping the library free for everyone else.
In the box
- Every card in the deck, printed front and back
- Full-colour art on the front; action, cue, tiny start and source on the back
- A QR code on each card that opens its full page
- Foundation 10
- Growth 7
- Mastery 5
- Challenge 2
How to use it
- Pick one Foundation card that fits your day and pin it where the moment happens.
- Do it each time the cue comes round. On bad days, do the tiny version.
- When it runs on its own, pin the next card. Climb a tier when you're ready.
- Or shuffle and draw one card each morning for variety.
- Take on a Challenge card when you want a stretch.

What's the difference between the free deck and the printed deck?
The cards are the same. The free deck is a download: open it in the print studio and print it at home or save it as a PDF. The printed edition is professionally printed, front and back, with each card's QR code, so it's ready to pin up the day it arrives.
Is the free deck really free?
Yes. Every card in the library is free to read, print and use. No account, no email, no trial. The printed decks pay for the library.
Can I buy a printed deck right now?
Not yet. The original boxed decks are sold out, and the printed editions of the library decks are being prepared. Join the waitlist on any deck and we'll email you once when it's ready to order.
How much does a printed deck cost?
The original boxed decks were $39.99 USD for 120 cards. Prices for the library editions will be on each deck's page before orders open, and the waitlist email will say what it costs.
Which deck should I start with?
Start with the change you want most right now, not the one you think you should want. Pick a life area on the decks page and read who each deck is for. If two fit, take the one with the smaller first step.
From the screen to the fridge
Put the card where the habit happens.
Every deck is free to download and print at home, then pin up: on the fridge, the mirror, beside the monitor. Or get the printed edition, ready to pin up the day it arrives.
