Learn From Your Child’s Care Setting Each Month
Whenyour monthly planning brings a chance to connect with your child’s regular caregiver
Ask the teacher or regular caregiver about one current interest and one way they support it. Join an allowed activity or observe an ordinary routine when invited, then use one useful detail during your own care. Share your own observation in return.
Why it works
Your child has a life in the hours you do not see. You can learn its details.
Start tiny
Ask one concrete question about what your child enjoys there.
What you’ll notice
You become a participating caregiver with your own knowledge of the setting.
When it slips
A visit unavailable? Use a short agreed call or written exchange. If you provide home care yourself, learn from a regular trusted adult who knows the child. Adapt: Birth–1: ask about comfort and signals. 1–3: observe favored activities. 3–6: include child’s perspective on their setting.
SafetyFollow setting permissions and privacy rules; avoid photographing other children without permission.
