Read a draft aloud and revise
Whenthe structure is settled
Read your draft aloud at an ordinary pace, or listen with text-to-speech. Mark where you stumble, run out of sense or lose interest. Revise one marked passage for clarity and rhythm, then hear it again. Keep deliberate roughness when it serves the voice.
- Make it easier
- Work on one page.
- Make it harder
- Listen to the complete piece without stopping, then revise patterns.
- Progression
- On later passes, check recurring problems before isolated blemishes.
