Restart a sentence that came out harshly

Whenyou hear yourself blame or insult your partner

Stop. Own the harsh wording and say the concern again without the insult. Keep the real issue on the table; a kinder restart does not mean abandoning it.

Try saying
“I called you careless. That was unfair. I’m worried we’ll miss the train; can we leave now?”

Start tiny

Say, “That came out harshly. Let me restart.”

SafetyIf you fear retaliation or feel unsafe, skip joint exercises and seek confidential individual support.
