Tell One True Family Story at a Weekly Meal

Whenyour chosen weekly meal reaches a relaxed moment

Tell a short true story about someone in the child’s family or trusted circle: a funny mistake, an ordinary kindness or how you learned something. Invite their version or question; use a photo only if welcome.

Why it works

Your child can meet the people behind the names through an ordinary story.

Start tiny

Tell one true moment in two sentences.

What you’ll notice

A familiar meal gathers a few stories worth keeping.

When it slips

If you drift into a moral lecture, tell what happened and stop. Use chosen-family stories when family history is painful or unavailable. Adapt: Birth–1: brief warm voice and names. 1–3: concrete story with gestures. 3–6: invite questions and their own retelling.
