Retest a correction in the next lettuce sowing

Whenpoor lettuce emergence returns

Sow a labelled test row of 10 seeds. At the packet’s emergence window, count seedlings. Check depth, surface moisture and temperature against the packet. Correct one mismatch in a later 10-seed row; recount after the same interval.

Steps
  1. Keep the seed lot and other conditions similar. Record sowing dates, checking interval and changed conditions.
  2. Compare emerged seeds out of 10. Keep a useful correction; if both rows fail, pause and seek local advice.

Start tiny

Label a row and sow 10 seeds.

SafetyUse reserved space in a suitable season. Extra fertilizer does not fix poor emergence.
