Ask Another Adult to Own One Chore Routine
Whenyou plan the household week with another caregiver
Ask a co-parent or willing trusted caregiver to own one child-friendly chore routine from start to finish: notice the need, prepare, teach, supervise and put away. Agree when you will check in.
Why it works
The visible chore is only part of the work. Remembering, teaching and checking can still sit with one adult unless ownership includes them.
Start tiny
Ask “Can you lead laundry practice this week?”
What you’ll notice
You get one routine you do not have to run from the sidelines.
When it slips
If they ask you for every step, agree on the result and safety limits, then let them choose the method. If there is no willing adult, keep the routine smaller.
SafetyAgree on supervision and safe tasks. Only willing trusted adults take responsibility; children do not take on adult care loads.
