Growth

Gradually expose indoor seedlings to outdoor conditions

Whenindoor-grown seedlings approach a suitable outdoor planting window

Start about two weeks before planting out. On a mild afternoon, put seedlings in sheltered shade for two hours, then bring them in before cooling. On later suitable days, add outdoor time and then morning sun. Set a return alarm each time.

Progression
Build toward the crop’s intended outdoor light. After stress, resume from the last tolerated exposure rather than pushing through.

Start tiny

Choose a sheltered spot and set the return alarm.

SafetyAvoid frost, strong wind and temperatures unsuitable for the crop. Keep mix moist. Pause or shorten exposure if leaves scorch or wilt.
